1. Who we are
This Privacy Policy describes how POV Living (“we”, “the app”, “the service”) handles information when you use the POV Living iOS application, our cloud API, and related community features (including optional Discord linking).

2. Information we process
- Account data: name, username / handle, email, authentication credentials (hashed on the server), role / staff flags when applicable.
- Profile & social: avatar, bio, presence, follows, comments, posts, reports, and similar social graph data.
- Content you create: stories, characters, chat messages, immersion preferences, media you upload.
- Play state: sessions, library membership, living-world psyche / bond data needed to keep unique playthroughs durable.
- Purchases: StoreKit transaction identifiers and subscription status we verify with Apple — we do not receive your full payment card number.
- Device & ops: push notification tokens, app language / preferences, basic diagnostic logs needed to run and secure the service.
- Optional Discord link: Discord user snowflake if you link Discord for community / plan badge sync.
- Audio: microphone input only when you start a voice feature; used for speech recognition to drive the scene.
3. How we use information
- Provide, sync, and improve living story experiences.
- Authenticate you, prevent abuse, moderate safety reports.
- Deliver push notifications you enable.
- Verify subscriptions and entitlements.
- Optionally sync Discord plan badge roles when you link Discord.
- Comply with law and enforce our Terms.
4. AI and third-party processors
To power living scenes, POV Living may send conversation text and related scene context to:
- Google Gemini — generative AI responses
- ElevenLabs — optional text-to-speech
- Apple — Sign in / StoreKit / push delivery as applicable
- Google Cloud — hosting (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) for the POV Living backend under project
pov-living - Discord — only if you join or link Discord (subject to Discord’s policies)
Do not include sensitive personal data in chat that you do not want processed by these providers. Their processing is subject to their own policies.
5. What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your data for third-party advertising tracking.
- We do not enable App Tracking Transparency tracking for ads.
6. Storage and durability
Account and story data sync to our cloud database so your worlds stay durable across devices. The iOS app also keeps a local cache (SwiftData). Deleting the app removes the local cache but does not by itself erase cloud data until you delete your account (or use in-app delete flows where offered).
7. Children’s privacy
POV Living is not directed to children under 13. Optional mature (18+) worlds are gated by age rating settings and preferences. Do not use the app if you are under the minimum age allowed in your region.
8. Your choices
- Privacy controls in the app (account privacy, messaging, comments, blocks, muted words, etc.).
- Toggle 18+ visibility where your plan and settings allow.
- Decline microphone / speech permission in iOS Settings; the rest of the app still works.
- Unlink Discord or leave the Discord server at any time.
- Request data export or account deletion where available; contact us if you need help.
9. Retention
We retain information as long as your account is active and as needed to operate the service, resolve disputes, enforce Terms, and meet legal obligations. Safety reports and related logs may be kept longer when required for integrity.
10. Security
We use industry-standard measures appropriate to our scale (TLS, access controls, hashed credentials, encrypted secrets). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11. International transfers
We may process data in the United States (including Google Cloud regions we operate) and other locations where our providers run. By using POV Living you understand your information may be transferred to those locations.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date will change. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy. For material changes we will try to provide reasonable notice when practical.
